- Attendees expressed concerns over insufficient bad weather preparations as parts of the country faced heavy snowfall.
- The DJ emphasized the complexities of organizing a large-scale event and urged the public to consider the organizers' challenges.
Despite the chilly weather, the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival proceeded without major hiccups. However, leading up to the event, many concertgoers were taken aback by the setup of the stage and the decision to proceed with the event during adverse weather conditions. It sparked a heated debate online, with attendees questioning the organizers' preparedness.

Fans React Strongly Against DStv Delicious Festival
One attendee pointed out the lack of a stage marquee in a viral video of the venue, echoing the sentiments of many others who felt the DStv Delicious Festival should have been postponed in light of the severe weather warnings issued by the South African Weather Service. The heavy snowfall that swept through much of the country in the days leading up to the event only added fuel to the fire. Fans were left scratching their heads, wondering why organizers didn’t take these warnings more seriously.
@_BlackZA on X (Twitter) expressed frustration, writing:

"DSTV Delicious they crazy. They didn’t even bother getting a Marquee for the main stage? Or even postpone?"
This comment resonated with many, as the harsh weather conditions were a major concern for those attending the festival.
DJ Shimza Champions the Cause for DStv Delicious
Enter DJ Shimza, creator of the hit song Rumble, who came to the defense of the DStv Delicious Festival organizers. He explained that organizing an event of such magnitude involves countless moving parts and that expecting last-minute changes due to sudden weather shifts isn’t always feasible. He urged people to see things from the organizers' perspective, pointing out that by the time the weather took a turn, the event was already 80% prepared.
"With all due respect and from a promoter's point of view, there’s really not much you can do with such weather that decided to take a turn 2/3 days before an event of that magnitude. By then, you’re about 80% done with everything. It’s very unfair for people to have expected delicious to 'get a marquee or even postpone.' Very unfortunate, but we hope for the best."

@JostaMasterJ chimed in, saying:
"People just like to talk. Many haven’t even hosted a baby shower before."

"I like how you politely walk us through the process. You mostly speak from a layman's perspective. For example, we didn’t know that an application is made with the layout specification and approval; it's not easy to chop and change. Again, the budget may not allow it."
