- Social media reactions were mixed, with some fans disagreeing, citing Zwane's past tenure at Chiefs
In a surprising twist, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has been given a nod of approval by Arthur Zwane, co-coach of PSL rival AmaZulu and former coach of the Amakhosi. Zwane’s acknowledgment comes after the two teams faced off in a thrilling 2-2 draw on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Zwane, who was previously at the helm of Kaizer Chiefs in 2022, took the opportunity to commend Nabi’s influence on the Soweto giants. He noted significant improvements since the Tunisian coach took over at the start of the season, highlighting the tactical changes and strategic depth that Nabi has brought to the table.

Arthur Zwane Acknowledges Nasreddine Nabi’s Tactical Genius
According to iDiski Times, Zwane expressed his respect for Nabi’s contributions to Chiefs, while also reaffirming AmaZulu’s commitment to supporting co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi and former Bafana Bafana star. Zwane elaborated on his observations:
“I must say Chiefs is doing very well, their passing patterns, I think coach Nabi is cooking something great. They made our life difficult, and I must commend [my] players, they keep fighting, making sure that we don’t concede that second goal before half-time and then I think it gave us enough time to look at [Chiefs’] structure, knowing very well there will be changes. We were even in the second half as compared to the first, where they created many clear-cut chances and Ofori kept us in the game – in the end we made two costly mistakes – but that’s football when pressure mounts you are bound to crack.”
AmaZulu officially confirmed the draw with Chiefs on their Twitter (X) profile, acknowledging the competitive nature of the match and the mutual respect between the two teams.
AmaZulu Undergoing Positive Transformations
Since Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi took over at AmaZulu, the club has been making steady improvements. Their efforts were bolstered by strategic signings during the January transfer window, including Bongani Zunu and Sandile Mthethwa, both of whom have added depth to the squad.
In addition to Zunu and Mthethwa, AmaZulu also secured Namibian striker Elmo Kambindu, who made an immediate impact by scoring against Chiefs. These additions have not only strengthened the team but have also reignited hope among fans for a brighter future.
The co-coaches have set ambitious goals for the club, aiming to secure a top-eight finish in the PSL. Although currently in ninth place, the team is showing signs of improvement, which has been evident in their recent performances.

Fans Weigh In on Zwane’s Comments
The reaction from local football fans was mixed, with some expressing skepticism about Zwane’s remarks. Many believe he should focus more on his current role at AmaZulu rather than commenting on Kaizer Chiefs.
