LUSIKISIKI — In a chilling display of violence, seventeen souls, predominantly women, were brutally gunned down in two separate incidents in Lusikisiki on Friday night. The community is reeling from the shock and grief of such a senseless act of brutality.

According to police reports, an eighteenth individual was critically injured and rushed to the hospital, fighting for their life. The tragedy has left the nation in disbelief, questioning how such violence could occur on such a massive scale.

Unimaginable Loss: Seventeen Lives Taken in Lusikisiki

In one chilling incident, unknown assailants stormed a homestead in Nyathi Village, Ngobozana area, and opened fire, brutally killing twelve women and one man. Just a short distance away, another four people were mercilessly gunned down at a second homestead. What makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking is that all the victims were related, tearing apart an entire family in one fell swoop.

  • Sources close to the investigation reveal that at the time of the attack, the family was preparing for a cleansing ceremony. This ritual was intended to honor the memory of a mother and her daughter, who were tragically killed in a previous incident last year.     As the community struggles to come to terms with this horrific event, Police Minister Senzo Mchunu stepped forward to address the media and assure the public that authorities are doing everything in their power to bring those responsible to justice.

    Minister Mchunu held a press conference at 1 PM on Saturday at the Thanduxolo Comprehensive Secondary School hall in KwaNobuhle, Gqeberha. He was joined by Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale and National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola to outline the police's nationwide efforts to combat crime and restore peace to communities across South Africa.

    Deadly Tavern Attack in Daveyton: Six Men Gunned Down

    In another shocking development, a seemingly peaceful evening at a tavern in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, turned into a scene of bloodshed when six patrons lost their lives to a senseless act of violence. Reports indicate that the victims, all men aged between 40 and 53, were enjoying a relaxed drinking session when unknown attackers opened fire, leaving a seventh individual critically injured.

    Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, spokesperson for the Gauteng police, revealed that the men were sitting outside the tavern when armed assailants approached and began firing indiscriminately. The surviving victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
