Eleven traffic officials were arrested by the SAPS after being accused of accepting bribes from bus operators, taxi drivers, and motorists.
The alleged bribery occurred along the N1 motorway between Polokwane and Musina.
These officials have been under investigation since March 2022 as part of an undercover operation codenamed 'Coconut.'

POLOKWANE - In a major crackdown on corruption, the Road Traffic Management Anti-Corruption Unit (NTACU), in collaboration with the South African Police Services, arrested 11 traffic officers in Polokwane on September 6, 2024.
