South African Amapiano sensation and entertainer Uncle Vinny has taken legal action against podcaster and record label owner Sfiso Ndlovu after the latter made some pretty serious allegations about him on the popular show Piano Pulse. These accusations didn’t sit well with Uncle Vinny, and he decided to fight back using the law.

Why Did Sfiso Ndlovu Get Sued?
Sfiso Ndlovu, the brains behind Lea Records, found himself in hot water after making some pretty bold claims about Uncle Vinny during an episode of the Podcast and Chill Network. According to Ndlovu, Uncle Vinny had been indulging in codeine, a claim that could have serious implications for the artist’s reputation and health. This didn’t just slip out as a random comment—it was part of a larger narrative that painted Vinny in a negative light.
Uncle Vinny wasn’t having it. He wasted no time in taking legal action, demanding not only R500K in damages but also a public apology to clear his name. In the legal documents shared on his Instagram account, Vinny’s lawyers laid out the situation clearly:

“On September 25, 2024, you made false, malicious, and defamatory comments about our client on Podcast and Chill Network. One of the statements was particularly harmful: ‘Codeine is going to kill Vinny.’ This kind of accusation is not only baseless but also damaging to his career and personal life.”
Sfiso Ndlovu Backtracks and Apologizes
After the lawsuit was filed, Sfiso Ndlovu quickly realized the gravity of his words and issued a heartfelt apology. In a letter addressed to Uncle Vinny, which was later shared on social media, Ndlovu admitted his mistake and expressed regret for the harm caused.
He wrote:
“I fully retract my statement and I sincerely apologize for the harm these remarks might have caused to Uncle Vinny's reputation, brand, and personal integrity. It was never my intention to slander or humiliate him, and I deeply regret any distress my words may have caused. I should have verified my facts before making such reckless statements.”
Ndlovu also requested that Uncle Vinny remove any posts where he had shared personal information about him. He acknowledged that this was unnecessary and asked for it to be taken down, showing a willingness to move forward in a more respectful manner.
Uncle Vinny Faces Trolls Over His Career
While Uncle Vinny was busy handling this legal matter, he also had to deal with another challenge—trolls on social media. In a previous report by Briefly News, it was noted that some South Africans weren’t shy about critiquing Uncle Vinny’s career choices. After watching him perform, a few critics suggested that he should consider going back to school and finding a backup plan for his future.
However, not everyone agreed with this assessment. Many supporters pointed out that Uncle Vinny is doing exceptionally well in the music industry, with a thriving career that speaks for itself. They argued that his talent and hard work have earned him a solid place in the Amapiano scene, and there’s no reason for him to abandon his dreams. It’s a reminder that success looks different for everyone, and Vinny’s journey is undeniably his own.
